Riding through Riyadh...

Though I can't comment on many of the buildings, here is a peek at what we have seen from our bus:

The Kingdom tower is visible from my room. We will be visiting it later today.

Sulaiman is the Arabic form of my name :-)

Of course there are many malls here. There is even one connected to our hotel. It is closed during prayer tim, 12-4, which is when our break is :-)

The two towers of the Kingdom & Alfaisaliah are a work of art. It is surly a wonderful experience to enter it and enjoy the view. :)
About the Malls, they open from 10 am till 1 pm, and at 5 pm they open again till 11 pm. Some may think the timings aren’t convenient. But it is matching the life styles of Saudi’s living in big cities. Walking in the Malls of the Kingdom & Alfaisaliah is more like walking down the shops in Beverly Hills. :) Same thing when you walk down Altahliah street in Jeddah. You walk and see all the international trade marks every where. And that leads us back to the point you raised about Consumerism and how at the end the circle of similarities among nations are becoming broader in this age marked by globalization.

Have you tried taking a little movie of any of your travels? I was thinking that your camera probably has a video button, they're so common these days.

Those buildings look way more high-tech than i thought they would..(because to me saudi arabia would be more of an lcd)...none-the-less, they are gorgeous buildings!

P.S.: You're not doing too bad on your picture taking!! :]]

Hey Sol! Enjoyed reading your blog.
Can you comment on the food. What have been your favorite meals? How do their breakfasts/lunches/dinners/restaurants differ form ours?

Lots of questions but I am curious about their food.

See you soon!
Erik

Have you bought any cool or interesting things? Like clothes, artifacts or cool little toys.
